In 2013 MSF continued to run a clinic for Rohingya refugees and local Bangladeshis outside the Kutupalong makeshift refugee camp. In the town of Fulbaria, we fought the neglected tropical disease kala-azar (visceral leishmaniasis). We also took over the Kamrangirchar slum project in the capital Dhaka from MSF-Belgium; the project is focused on sexual and reproductive health, treatment of multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and environmental and occupational health. Also in Dhaka, the team provided mental health support to survivors and rescuers from the Rana Plaza building collapse and to people injured in pre-election violence.
